The site is free
Search, the shelves, every anime and season page, My List and the app: all free, with no account. Press Watch now and the list for your country shows the free ad-supported services marked as free beside the subscriptions.
What free carries
For a catalogue weighted to the 2000s and 2010s, a great deal: whole runs of the long shonen, the kids TV shows, many classic films and the older mecha series. Newer seasons of a returning run sit on the subscriptions first.
How the site pays its way
A referral fee from some services, paid when a visitor opens a title through Watch now at the price the service charges anyway, is the whole arrangement.
